Gain more information about career advice and coaching field, study facts and pain points that people have when they are looking for jobs
Many fresh college graduates have ambitions and aspirations for their future career. However, a large percentage of them lack a concrete plan to achieve their goals, which can lead them down the wrong path unknowingly.Steps is a new platform that aims to provide recent graduates with a clear and concise plan for their career. By inputting their goals, majors, interests, experiences, and desired timeline, Steps generates a personalized career plan that outlines all the necessary steps to achieve their aspirations. This way, they can avoid wasting time and effort on pursuing the wrong path.
The main goal of this project is to create an end-to-end application. The challenging part is to understand user pain points and concerns when they are looking for career advice.

The average person will have 12 jobs during their lifetime. 29% of people have completely changed fields since starting their first job after college.
Through extensive research and user interviews, I meticulously crafted two personas. These personas are not just a product of my research, but they encapsulate the very essence of the pain points identified during the interviews.
Erin Staud recently graduated from her graduate school. Somehow, she could not find a job that fit her major, so she worked as a full-time receptionist in a clinic. Meanwhile, she desires to look for the right job.
Olivia Jones is a business development manager who wants to change her career to UX Design. And she is looking for the right platform to guide her.
The personas were created to feature users' goals, motivation, and pain points.
While module map and user flow are focused on the needs of the app based on research. The module mao and user flow shows how this app was plan out.
After conducted the module plan and user flows, I developed low-fidelity wireframes that reflect all the research I did.
I want to create a career application that encourages people. I chose green as the primary color because it represents energy and growth, and orange as the secondary color because it represents optimism and friendliness.
I used Google Material as a reference to build my UI Kit.
I have integrated UI elements into the wireframes to develop responsive UI frames for this application.
In order to test the design and functionality of the entire application, I enlisted 5 participants from diverse occupations and backgrounds. I created 3 scenarios for the testers to complete and observed their reactions via Zoom meetings.
I conducted a usability test with 5 testers via Zoom meetings.
The main takeaway is that most testers stated there should be a "Result Page" after the quiz section, so users know that the process is finished. Additionally, some of the testers didn't know what the next step was after they entered the home page. They suggested that the "Track your goal" section should be emphasized and stand out.
Regarding the agenda page, testers suggested that there should be a function for users to edit or add tasks as they wanted.
The goal of this project is to create a comprehensive application from start to finish. I was inspired to develop this app after transitioning from interior design to UI/UX design and experiencing confusion at the beginning. I encountered challenges in finding the right resources and ended up wasting two months on ineffective online courses.
If I had access to an app that could provide guidance throughout the process, I would have saved a significant amount of time and effort. This application is the solution born out of that necessity.
There's still a lot to do for the next step:
Create a result page after the question section
"Add task" and "Edit task" function on the Agenda page
Emphasized the "Track your goal" section on Homepage
Time progress bar on the Track goal page
Post question function. in the discussion section on Homepage
Coaching system
Submit resume function
